THE GOOD HUMAN PROJECT
OUR COMMITMENT TO PEOPLE & PLANET
Our commitment under The Good Human Project, is to integrate sustainability, ethical development, and positive community impact into everything we do. It’s also just about being a good human and working with good humans –everyday.
He aha te mea nui o te ao?
He tangata. He tangata. He tangata.
HOW WE’RE MAKING A DIFFERENCE NOW
REPOSITIONING & SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
Prioritising Adaptive Reuse – Where possible, we rework existing buildings to extend their lifecycle, reducing waste and preserving embodied carbon.
Thoughtful New Development – When new construction is needed, we ensure its energy-efficient, durable, and built for the long term.
Sustainable Partnerships – We collaborate with contractors, architects, and suppliers who champion sustainable design, ethical labour practices, and responsible material sourcing.
REDUCING ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
Smart Energy Solutions – Through solar power, passive design, and high-performance energy systems, we reduce the operational carbon footprint of every building we touch. At 9 Exmouth Street, 64 installed solar panels have translated directly into 30% net energy savings for tenants.
Material Repurposing & Circular Economy – We actively salvage and reuse materials from projects to minimise landfill waste.
Reducing Embodied Carbon – In typical adaptive reuse projects we’re able to deliver new, transformative spaces faster (when compared to a new build) while retaining up to 70% of embodied carbon by preserving the existing structure.*
We are a member of the NZGBC and have an accredited Greenstar Professional as part of our team, demonstrating our commitment to green building practices.
COMMUNITY & SOCIAL IMPACT
University of Auckland support award
We make an annual donation to the Business School Student Support Award, which helps students facing financial hardship continue their studies.Giving back through volunteer days
Our commitment to people and planet goes beyond our buildings. We volunteer every two months for a charity in need. Most recently we have:Hosted a donation drive for Auckland City Mission
Sponsored a Speak Easy for Movember, raising funds for men's mental health
Spent a day out with Sea Cleaners
Baked for the team at Ronald McDonald House
Volunteered our time and provided ongoing donations to KiwiHarvest
Supporting Local Business – We prioritise local trades, small businesses, and social enterprises, ensuring economic value stays within the community.
We partner with Raizor “Insurance For Good” for all our building insurances.
THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING
The Good Human Project is our commitment to doing business in a way that makes a lasting, positive impact. As we continue to grow, so will our ability to do more, give more, and build better.
